Goa (Konkani: गोंय) is India's smallest state by area and the fourth smallest by population. Located in South West India in the region known as the Konkan, it is bounded by the state of Maharashtra to the north, and by Karnataka to the east and south, while the Arabian Sea  forms its western coast. Goa a state in India's West  region, is a former Portuguese colony with rich history. It is 3,700 square km in size with a population of approximately 1.4 million. Panaji, Goa's state capital is also known as Panjim, Ponnje or Pangim. It is one of the most charming cities in India.
Goa is a hub of tourism in India.
