The countries of East Asia are situated within a temperate area between mainland China and Russia, and the Pacific Ocean, and all of its countries have coastlines along the South China Sea. The cities here are modern and dynamic and futuristic, but the predominantly Buddhist cultures remain exotic and fascinating to the outside traveller. East Asia may be a modern economic powerhouse, but its rich cultures make it a fascinating location for travellers to experience.
